Alice Jane Larke is on staff with Gruppi Biblici Universitari (GBU) in Italy.

When did you trust Christ?

I was blessed to grow up in a Christian household. I don't remember making a decision, but it was at a young age. When I was 14 years old, I was baptised.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Leaving for university and becoming involved in the CU (Christian Union) was one of my first experiences proactively sharing my faith with those around me. I did a year of the 'Relay' programme with UCCF (Christian Union charity) and received a lot of discipleship and training that year. From there, I was able to pour into the Christian students around me. Then, I moved to Italy for a one-year mission programme and ended up staying for several more years. I never expected to be a missionary. I thought I wasn't 'cut out for it', and there were others who could do a much better job than me. But looking back over the last several years, I can say that God has used me in my weaknesses and strengths—all for His Glory!

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I expect to be fed and trained and have space to fix my eyes on Jesus. This will build me up and, therefore, benefit the ministry. It will also be encouraging to meet other Christian leaders.

What is your ministry?

My ministry is GBU (Gruppi Biblici Universitari). Our GBU motto is 'Sharing Jesus from Student to Student'. My aim is to encourage our students in their walk with Jesus and to equip and help them to share Him with those around them.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I was a CU (Christian Union) committee leader and CU 'Relay' worker. In those roles, I was involved in discipleship, training, and equipping students to share Jesus. I am a GBU staff worker and team leader in Torino. In these roles, I am also involved in discipleship, training, and equipping students, but I disciple other staff, too.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I have the privilege discipling students and bringing them to God's Word when they are in a new and 'critical' time of their lives. In my ministry, we get to share the Gospel with both Italians and international students from across the world (including closed countries).
