What is your ministry?

I lead the work of the Hungarian Evangelical Forum, which is a direct fruit of the European Leadership Forum. I also write for a website that communicates the Gospel's truthfulness to Hungarians, which has turned out to be an unexpected success. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences has published a study I wrote on the Reformational understanding of sin. I wrote a book on Eros (Erosz nyomában, Harmat Publishing House, 2008), which addressed Christians and non-Christians searching for the good, the true, and the beautiful. I received my Ph.D. in the area of New Testament from Károli Reformed University. I also speak at conferences and other events. Until 2017, I was the pastor of a church for 20 years.

When did you trust Christ?

I was brought up in the church, so I heard the Gospel from my early childhood. But it was in a Hungarian Fellowship of Evangelical Students camp that the grace of God conquered my resistance. I was 16 years old and I felt very guilty for my lifestyle. The Holy Spirit enabled me to give my entire life, will, mind, and heart to Almighty God. After that I knew from experience that Jesus is alive.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

I married my wife, Dóra, in 1996 and we decided to live in Veszprém and began to attend a church plant in the town. In 1999 I became the pastor of that church. A year later the church became an independent evangelical church. My years as a pastor of the church have been testing times for me, but also very rewarding. Times of loneliness and the burden of responsibility taught me to depend on God and about the incomprehensible covenantal love of Christ.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

When I first came to the Forum in 2004, I was isolated in the ministry and surrounded by many people drifting away from the faith. It was a very discouraging situation. I had no idea there were so many other Christian leaders who were struggling like me or had already found a larger fellowship or a pool of resources to rebuild their convictions. So, when I came to the Forum, I was shocked by what I experienced.

The Lord has used the Forum in my life in unexpected ways. Meeting other Christian leaders and encouraging one another is a blessing. We have sweet fellowship at our dinner tables and receive mutual encouragement. Meeting speakers and participants with such wonderful hearts has also been a great blessing.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I would like to thank you for your generosity and the support that I received from you so that I could participate in the Forum. Thank you for your financial support. May God bless you and give you a hundredfold return in spiritual riches! The Forum is a wonderful opportunity to be in the mainstream of European evangelical thinking and networking.
