Abel Kiss

Abel Kiss is a director for Dorcas Ministries in Hungary.
I grew up in a Christian home, and both my parents are reformed pastors. In youth group, things started to make sense, and I made a faith commitment at age 13. I saw the impact the Gospel made on my fellow mates (joy, love) in contrast to the lives of those who lived without the Lord.
At my Christian high school in Miskolc, I helped found a missional group and learned about the Gospel and ministry from fellow students and Christian teachers who mentored me. From 2003-2006, I studied ministry training and church planting strategy in Sydney, Australia. I also studied at Moore College where I gained an evangelical view of the Bible. Since getting married, I've served in church leadership and ministry in Debrecen (worship, Bible studies, youth and home groups, prison and children's ministry) for 17 years. Attending Sonship Conference and Academy and the Leadership Forum in Hungary twice have also built my faith. My favorite writers include J. I. Packer, John Piper, and Tim Keller.
I would benefit as both a person and leader (church planter and NGO manager) from the strong biblical content and opportunities to network and establish mutually beneficial partnerships for the Gospel.
I serve with Dorcas Ministries (Debrecen and Budapest) and coordinate social projects among disadvantaged target groups, train other Christians, and fundraise. I am also preparing a church plant with another family.
I led a high school mission group (worship, Bible study, evangelism) from 1999 to 2003. In Sydney, Australia (2003-2006), I participated in church planting and pastoral assistance. At Debrecen Csapókerti and Újréti Reformed Churches (2006-2023), I was a presbyter and led worship, Bible studies, evangelism, and men's, children's, and prison ministry. Since 2015, I have been Managing Director of Dorcas Ministries, overseeing social projects with families, foster children, refugees, and prisoners.
I wish to grow in my knowledge and love of God and be a blessing to my family, church, and organisation. My calling is to reach non-Christians, the disadvantaged, and the poor.
