Sven Hinderaker
Sven Hinderaker is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Bergen in Norway.
I grew up in a Christian household and have trusted Christ since childhood. I grew up partly in Tanzania where my father was a missionary doctor.
I can’t think of a specific defining moment, but growing in the knowledge of God, group Bible studies, and going to Bible school have been very influential.
As a former missionary doctor, I like to keep updated on the current status of the Evangelical church. I also look forward to having good discussions with colleagues and fellow believers, learning current strategies, and meeting and supporting colleagues and friends.
I was a former missionary doctor at a rural hospital in Tanzania in the 1990s. I have been a professor of global health, teaching medical students and other health-related students at bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. I am now retired and emeritus.
I have supervised and taught international MPhil students in International Health and was a missionary doctor.
I believe ministry is for life, and I can still contribute to the Kingdom, even though I am retired. I can be a source of wisdom for younger leaders and continue to spread the Good News.
