Hussam Fakhoury

Hussam Fakhoury serves with IFES in Jordan and trains and equips leaders to reach Muslims.
In 1986, I moved into a house next to an evangelical church where I became actively involved in a small group Bible study and began understanding the message of Christ. The Navigator's 10 book series was pivotal in my transformative spiritual journey.
Since 1986, I have remained an active member of the same church where I was allowed to preach and teach while still in high school. I grew through small groups, Bible studies, evangelistic camps, and outreach events during my university years. In 1999, I began serving full-time with IFES, where I pioneered ministry efforts in Iraq, the West Bank, and Yemen. My work expanded to include training and capacity-building initiatives throughout the MENA region.
Attending the Forum will enhance my ministry by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships. I believe in the concept of 'Return on Relationships (ROR)'—building connections that lead to collaborative efforts and impactful ministry outcomes. By engaging with European leaders, particularly in the context of reaching the growing Muslim population, I can both contribute my expertise in raising awareness about Islam and learn from their experiences and insights. This mutual exchange and sharing of best practices will provide collective growth and build partnerships to advance the Gospel.
I serve with IFES and am currently pioneering ministry efforts in the Gulf states, focusing on expanding outreach and discipleship in this strategic and under-reached region. My work involves capacity building for staff, students, and graduates through regional training programs, mentoring, and regional events designed to equip them for effective ministry. Key to my ministry is creating and sharing innovative resources for Bible study, leveraging materials from Walk Thru the Bible to make Scripture engaging and transformative.
Several leadership roles have shaped my ministry: student ministry leadership in Jordan for 15 years; pioneering ministry efforts in the West Bank, Iraq, Yemen, and the Gulf states; regional publishing leadership as director of the MENA region's publishing arm; producing ministry resources with Inspire Publishing House; serving as a Training Secretary since 2013 and overseeing leadership development across the region; being an Arabic Governance Trainer for the MENA region to provide board member training; becoming a Certified Organizational Development Consultant in 2018 to help ministries and organizations optimize their structures and processes; and serving as the Lead Arabic Trainer and MENA Coordinator for Walk Thru the Bible courses to facilitate Bible studies for Arabic-speaking audiences. These roles have allowed me to equip leaders, pioneer new ministries, and contribute to kingdom work in diverse and impactful ways.
In partnership with European leaders, I can bring valuable insight and experience about Islam and practical approaches to reaching the growing Muslim population. Coming from one of the world's least reached regions, I deeply understand the cultural, spiritual, and social challenges of engaging unreached populations. This unique perspective allows me to connect East and West, bridging gaps and fostering mutual understanding. My ministry efforts in challenging contexts like Iraq, the West Bank, and Yemen include training and equipping leaders to further the Gospel across the MENA region. Investing in my training and ministry can contribute to a mission that addresses immediate spiritual needs and builds long-term capacity for sustainable kingdom impact in some of the world’s most challenging and strategic regions.
