Cornelius Huwa is a team leader/CEO in African evangelistic missions in Malawi.

When did you trust Christ?

In 1999, while I was in Form One of secondary school, I gave my life to Jesus during a church service.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

The first defining moment was the day I gave my life to Christ. I used to be a Christian by name but did not know what it meant to really follow Jesus. Receiving Him changed me forever. The second was being selected to study medicine at the only medical school in my country—a sign from God. I was not the best student, but I was chosen. Then, a sponsor helped with my school fees when my dad could not afford them. It showed me that God is a provider and interested in my life story.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

A work colleague in Belgium, the Director of African Enterprise in Europe, told me about ELF. With over 20 years of ministry, the Forum is a great opportunity to network with other mission agencies and learn what is happening in other parts of the world to help improve our work in Africa.

What is your ministry?

I serve with African Enterprise Malawi and African Evangelistic Enterprise, a mission-based organisation with a vision to transform lives in Christ through an empowered Church. We strive to evangelise Africa's cities using the Stratified Evangelism Model and work in partnership with churches. We are currently domiciled in 12 countries: Ghana, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I have been a resident pastor of my local congregation for three years and was previously a deacon and elder. During college, I served one year as chairman of a Student Christian Organization of Malawi (an affiliate of IFES). I currently serve as Team leader/CEO of African Evangelistic Enterprise in Malawi and as International Missions Manager for African Enterprise International, overseeing 12 African countries.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

As a young leader, I have many ministry years ahead. My medical background helps me impact people who might not be reached with traditional evangelism methods. My wife and I have also written two Christian marriage books and are inspiring young couples to seek godly wisdom for marriage. As an author and teacher, I need guidance so I can help others.
