Aurelian-Teodor Ungur
Aurelian-Teodor Ungur is a pastoral trainee in Romania.
I was raised in a Christian family but decided to dedicate myself to following Jesus when I was 17. At the time, I was attending secondary school. A group of friends tried to persuade me to compromise on my Christian values. They believed I was missing out on the fun they were having. Realising that decisions like this would greatly impact my future, I decided to find my purpose in life and what I wanted to live for. At that time, Jesus opened my eyes to see His great love for me fully. At that moment, I decided I would follow Him no matter what, resisting the destructive temptations of the world.
I was going through a difficult time, feeling depressed and anxious. During a prayer gathering with friends, one person shared encouraging words. This person reminded me of Peter's experience with Jesus in Matthew 14:22-33. This encouragement strengthened my faith in Christ, teaching me to trust in Jesus even when surrounded by uncertainty or facing danger. I learned to put my entire trust in Him, knowing He will bring me salvation in times of need. That experience has continued to help me to this day.
A professor at the Institute of Theology in Bucharest introduced me to ELF. I believe the Forum will expand my Gospel knowledge and equip me with the necessary skills to become a more effective minister. The training will perfect my presentation and explanation of the Gospel to everyone, regardless of age.
I am involved in Bible study groups at Baptist Church Betania Bălnaca. I work with the youth and provide exhortations during prayers. My ministry includes organising activities that encourage fellowship, instil strong Christian values, and motivate teens to live out their faith in their everyday lives.
As one of the youth leaders, I was part of a team responsible for organising events such as outings and small conferences, as well as holding Bible study groups.
I serve a small rural community with great potential to spread the Work of God. The skills I attain will help me train and equip youth as future leaders, ensuring the revitalisation and sustainability of the local ministry.
