I made my decision to trust and follow Jesus some 31 years ago. I grew up in the Catholic Church. However, I had no personal relationship with God; it was all but rituals and religious customs. My classmates took me to an evangelical church when I was nineteen. I was soon asked to go alongside a street outreach team to translate from English into Serbian and Hungarian. Listening to and translating the gospel message helped me understand who Jesus is and that I needed to decide to follow Him.
It was studying the Scriptures and watching others apply Biblical truth in their lives, especially during difficult times. Observing believer during difficult times also prompted me to learn more about counselling and pastoral psychology, as not everyone I watched could adapt to their difficult circumstances.
I expect to gain insight into my situation in ministry. I hope to receive suggestions for change and improvement. I hope that the experience and knowledge of others will provide enough insight to help me make better choices. I expect to find fellowship with like-minded people from various ministries across Europe and the rest of the world. I also hope to build lasting relationships and form bonds beyond this initiative's parameters. I also expect to gain hope regarding my future in ministry; discouragement has often present in my life lately.
I have three roles at the moment in two ministry areas. First, I pastor a small church plant in District XI of Budapest. The pandemic decimated the church: many have moved away, the significance of relationships diminished, connections were severed, and the ministry team shrunk to a few people. I preach a sermon every Sunday and often have to jump in to serve in other areas of church operation. Second, most of my time is spent counselling. My degree is in pastoral psychology. I meet with 10-12 people every week. Third, I teach about counselling at the local Pentecostal seminary..
From 2000 to 2007, I was a pastor and church planter. From 2002 to 2017, I was a Bible teacher and acting rector. From 2018 to the present, I have been an assistant professor. From 2019 to present, I have been a pastor, church planter, and counsellor.
Furthering my personal growth will provide opportunities to benefit believers in Central Europe.
