Youssef Helmy

Youssef Helmy pastors a large evangelical church in Egypt.
I was raised in a Christian family, and due to my parents’ commitment to Christ, I decided to trust Him during my adolescence.
While I was serving in the military, I sensed the world's deep need to know about the salvation of Jesus. This was the catalyst that led me to become a full-time minister.
I think the Forum will broaden my scope and teach me new trends and leadership attitudes.
I am the senior pastor of Heliopolis Evangelical Church, the second largest evangelical church in both Egypt and the Middle East. I lead a team of three full-time pastors, a full-time youth minister, and about 200-250 male and female volunteers.
I served as an Assistant Pastor in my home church for three years, Associate Pastor in my home church for nine years, Assistant Pastor in Heliopolis Evangelical Church for five years, Senior Pastor in Heliopolis Evangelical Church for nine years (2015-now), and Board Chairman of the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo from 2017 to 2025.
First, my ministry is within the Middle East context which is very challenging due to non-stop turmoil. Second, we minister to a large number of young people (around 300, ages 17-25). Third, we do ministry within an Islamic environment which requires great wisdom and knowledge.
