Vasyl Topolyuk
Vasyl Topolyuk is a small group leader and youth worker in Ukraine.
At the age of 13, I was experiencing some severe health issues. My mother brought me to the best clinic in Kyiv, and the doctors said they had no medicine for this particular disease. I realised that my only hope was God and that no one else could help me. So my mother took me to church. The entire church was praying for me; my grandmother's church was praying for me, and I also prayed because I wanted to live. I can say that God healed me, and I give all the glory to Him!
God healing me was the defining moment of my Christian life.
Attending the Forum has renewed my sense of purpose and direction in my ministry. I've gained valuable insights and practical tools that have enhanced how I lead Bible study discussions, making them more engaging and impactful. Additionally, the Forum has helped me better understand and address the diverse needs of group members, fostering a more profound sense of community and spiritual growth within our group. Also, the Forum is a foretaste of paradise!
In my ministry within a small Bible study group, I focus on creating a welcoming environment where members feel comfortable exploring their faith and growing in their understanding of Scripture. I guide discussions, encouraging deep reflection and helping participants connect biblical teachings to their daily lives. My role also fosters a sense of community, ensuring that each person feels valued and supported as we journey together in our spiritual growth.
One of my past roles was mentoring at a summer camp for orphans. We had a great time working with the kids, teaching them about the Bible and many other things. As the Servant of Grace Community Church, my leadership role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and organisational development.
I want to evaluate my potential and desire for continued ministry in this area. I want to prepare to work in a youth ministry with young people. I want to learn about the methodology of investing in youth. I want to experience what it takes to serve Christ in youth outreach effectively. I want to learn how to work with troubled youth and build one-on-one relationships.
By joining a YRM, I am hopeful that I will find a mentor(s) that can help me achieve my goals. I am also hopeful to find a number of like-minded people so we can learn from each other. Overall, I look forward to learning and growing so I can be more effective in my ministry work.
