Ter Ern Andrew Loke is an author and associate professor at Hong Kong Baptist University.

When did you trust Christ?

When I was 16, I started thinking seriously about the meaning of life. I met some mature Christians and realised that the Christian Gospel contains the answer to my questions about life and the afterlife. I decided to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Since then, I have experienced God every day of my life through meditation on the Bible, prayer, and worshipping Him in church.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Discovering the writings and debates of William Lane Craig answered a lot of my questions. Studying at Biola for my MA in philosophy and religion and completing my PhD in Theology at King's College London under Alister McGrath were also defining moments in my walk.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I hope to form meaningful collaborations at ELF.

What is your ministry?

I am an an elected Fellow of the International Society for Science and Religion and Associate Professor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Hong Kong Baptist University. I have published eight monographs with academic peer-reviewed publishers (such as Cambridge University Press, Routledge, Springer Nature, and T&T Clark) in the fields of theology, philosophy of religion, historical-critical New Testament studies, and science and religion. In addition, I have published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals such as Religious Studies and Journal of Theological Studies. I have also taught at the University of Hong Kong and Regent College Vancouver and have been invited to deliver lectures at universities, such as Harvard and Oxford, and at seminaries and churches around the world.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I have been the Chairperson of a youth fellowship in my church, Vice president of the Asian Society for Philosophy of Religion and the Society for Science and Religion in Asia, as well as the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Centre for Christian Apologetics.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

By helping me attend the Forum, my sponsor would help expand the work of apologetics globally.
