Stefan Gasparic
Stefan Gasparic serves in his church and the local community with Steiger in Serbia.
I grew up in a Christian family, and I gave my life to Jesus originally at a really young age. Sadly, later in my teenage years, I went away into the world. One summer, Jesus restored me to Himself, and since then, I have been steadily walking with Him.
The summer that Jesus found me was really significant in my life, since He showed me afterwards all the sins I needed to repent of, and as I was growing in my understanding of His love for me and His will for my life, He showed me that I should start going to church again. That was another significant moment since having my pastor mentor me, and having a lot of new Christian friends and family really helped. After that, I would say some big moments were getting more into evangelism and meeting Steiger, the mission that I am serving in. During the mission school, God deeply affirmed my identity in Him and His calling for my life. I quit my secular job to go full-time into ministry.
I first heard about the Forum through my sister and friends who went a couple of years ago. It will benefit me by enabling me to connect with more like-minded missions-oriented leaders around the continent, and I also hope to get better equipped through the teachings and workshops at the Forum.
I serve locally in my city, Subotica, Serbia, with my church and a local community place with the goal of reaching the lost. I serve at both national and regional levels to connect with churches and organise creative evangelism workshops and conferences across the Balkan region. I serve on international missions when there's a mission trip in Europe.
I've organised many street outreaches, creative evangelism workshops, and church trainings. I also got to co-organise various youth events for both believers and non-believers at our local community centre. Other than that, I have been volunteering at the mission school every summer since 2023. I also joined the elders' team at my church in September 2023 and have been involved with my local church leadership since then. My official role in the mission also requires me to lead and indirectly mentor people in the movements across our region in the Balkans. For the past couple of years, I have also been leading a Bible study for the non-religious in a local pub.
The Balkan region of Europe is waiting for a revival. The harvest is great, yet the workers are few. So any investment made in this region and people serving here will go a long way to contribute to the pioneering work here in the south-eastern part of Europe.
