Štefan Evin
Štefan Evin is the Executive Director of The Gospel Coalition Slovakia.
By God's grace, I had devout Christian parents. I grew up in a country church environment and never doubted God. However, I perceived God's justice more than God's love. At the age of 12, because of fear of damnation, I surrendered my life to God in prayer, but it was only in the years of my university studies that I began to understand more of God's grace given to me through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. With repentance and gratitude, I surrendered my sins and sinful nature to Christ in faith and received His righteousness and new life.
At the age of 60+, I divide my life into three defining periods. (1) From my youth to the beginning of my ministry, I was faithful, devoted, and loyal to my church and denomination. (2) Then, I was a pastor in the local church, and my life was marked by faithfulness, devotion, and loyalty to ministry. (3) Lastly, the years when I was the president of the Council of the Free Church until now are characterised by faithfulness and devotion to Christ.
At the Forum, I look forward to encouragement, strengthened hope, the awareness of belonging to a great movement, and access to quality literature and resources. Above all, I hope to gain greater devotion to Christ and God's intentions. The Forum strengthens my personal spiritual life and service in a new position. It is a source of inspiration to be together with my co-workers and to hear great speakers and interpreters of the Scriptures.
I am the Executive Director of The Gospel Coalition Slovakia. After years of informal involvement, now as Executive Director, I build and support teams that manage annual conferences, book publishing, training seminars, and websites.
From 2004 to 2015, I was the Senior Pastor at a local church with 350 members. From 2015 to 2024, I served as the President of the Council of the Free Church, a denomination with 22 local churches. Lastly, in 2024, I became the Executive Director of The Gospel Coalition Slovakia.
My coworkers and I seek to renew the contemporary Church by proclaiming this everlasting Gospel. Therefore, we cultivate an environment in which Christ-followers can be encouraged to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, devotedly follow Jesus Christ, sacrificially serve in the local congregation, and boldly reach out to the culture with the love of Jesus Christ, in grace and truth. My intention is to build a healthy structure for this small, Gospel-centred Christian organisation and to train new leaders and ministers to carry on the work.
