Sonia Demiter
Sonia Demiter is serving in a worship ministry in Serbia.
I come from a fifth-generation family of born-again believers, so faith was present in my life from an early age. However, my decision to trust and follow Jesus was not based only on heritage, but on a personal encounter with God in my early youth. During that time, I experienced His presence in a real and life-changing way, and I consciously chose to surrender my life to Him and follow Jesus. Since then, my faith has continued to grow through a living relationship with God. I joyfully share my faith with others and speak openly about what God has done and continues to do in my life, believing that personal testimony carries both truth and hope.
Seasons of transition, challenge, and personal testing have played a key role in my spiritual growth. In moments when my faith was stretched, and familiar structures were shaken, I learned to rely on God not for outcomes, but for His presence. These seasons deepened my trust in Him, refined my understanding of grace, and taught me to listen more closely to His voice. Serving others—especially through worship and ministry—has been another defining element of my journey. Walking alongside people in different stages of faith has strengthened my conviction that God works powerfully through authenticity, perseverance, and love. Through both joy and hardship, my Christian walk has become less about performance and more about abiding in Christ and allowing Him to shape my life from the inside out.
I expect the Forum to motivate and encourage me for a new season of life and ministry, as well as to connect me with new friends and collaborators in ministry and broaden my knowledge and perspectives.
I am currently serving in a worship ministry, actively leading and developing a worship community focused on cultivating a culture of authentic, Christ-centred worship in Serbia. Through team leadership, collaboration, and mentoring, our ministry brings together people from different cities and backgrounds around a shared vision of spiritual growth and service. Alongside public ministry, we emphasise discipleship, character formation, and unity within the team, believing that healthy ministry flows from a healthy inner life. Our desire is to serve the wider Church by creating spaces where people can encounter God and grow in their faith.
Throughout my Christian journey, I have served in various leadership roles, primarily within worship and ministry contexts. For many years, I have been actively involved in worship ministry, where I have not only led worship but also helped shape vision, cultivate team culture, and mentor others in both spiritual and practical aspects of service. My leadership has often included coordinating teams across different cities, working with people of diverse backgrounds, and fostering unity around a shared calling and purpose.
Supporting my ministry is an investment in God’s calling on my life and in His purpose to bless Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Through this support, the culture of worship is strengthened, and more opportunities are created for people to encounter God in new and transformative ways.
