Silvija Kaminskaite
Silvija Kaminskaite is a youth ministry worker in her church in Lithuania, organising and administering all youth-related events.
I started following Jesus when I was 13 years old. I had grown up attending church and learning about God, but it was more like getting information rather than having a relationship with God. During a worship and prayer night at a Christian summer camp, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in a way I had never experienced. Everything I had heard about Jesus suddenly felt real and personal. I prayed and surrendered my life to Him.
After I told Jesus that my life was His, and that I wanted to follow Him, everything else in this life seemed meaningless. Soon afterwards, I got baptised and started serving in my local church.
I hope to further develop my youth ministry skills, grow spiritually and personally, and increase my knowledge by various means, including reading the entire Leadership Essentials book. I am excited to be in a community of youth ministry leaders, sharing ideas, struggles, and successes, and encouraging each other.
I am a youth ministry worker in my church. responsible for the organisation and administration of youth activities, such as summer camps, seminars, and retreats. I oversee a team of volunteers, providing training and support to ensure a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching environment for all students. I am involved in strategic planning for the ministry and community engagement initiatives. I am also responsible for the youth Sunday school. I build relationships with teen girls in my church and disciple them, as well as care for the girl leaders, who lead small groups and serve in other church ministries.
I was 17 years old when I started volunteering at my church's summer camps, eventually serving as a small group leader, facilitating weekly Bible studies, and guiding discussions that allowed students to explore their faith more deeply. Over time, my responsibilities expanded to include planning and organizing youth events, summer camps, and teaching Sunday school. After I started working for the church, I also became responsible for guiding and communicating with other youth leaders.
I would like to further develop my youth ministry skills to help young people know God, rather than just know about Him.
