Silas Kalombo
Silas Kalombo is a leader in student ministry with IFES / InterVarsity in Belarus.
I made my decision to follow Jesus when I was 18 years old at church after a wonderful service for youth.
I heard about the European Leadership Forum during a team meeting at IFES in Belarus. I expect to learn from others’ experiences, history, speech, and advice. I am sure there will be people with more experience who are more spiritually mature than I am, and I want to learn from them.
In my ministry, I serve students who are unbelievers. Together with my team, we pray for unbelievers and spend time with students. We do this in casual settings like watching movies, but we also open the Word and read the Bible with them to share the Gospel.
I was a leader of a small group of young people in my country. We used to preach to other youth in our city and pray for them too. We had a program for that, and every week we met and prayed and worked house by house to preach.
As a leader of a student ministry, I want to improve my leadership, my tolerance, and trust in other people, and I would like to learn more strategies on how to serve unbelievers or people from other religions.
