Sára Bucsi is an emerging leader and faithful volunteer at her church in Hungary.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in a Christian home. Faith has always been part of my life. I was around 14 years old when I really understood what Jesus' sacrifice meant for me. Around that time, I prayed a prayer I had heard from my mom since I was a kid. When I prayed that prayer, I felt the Holy Spirit for the first time. I felt peace after I had finally surrendered.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

I had amazing pastors and adults around me who encouraged me in my walk with Christ. I went to a Christian High School, and I got to lead other students in faith, which gave me a lot of courage in my own faith. I was recently accepted to a Theological Academy, but I'm taking a gap year before starting my studies to become a pastor. The last few months have been very difficult, but I'm taking time to re-centre my focus on what matters the most: my relationship with Jesus.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I see the need to realise that I am a leader, despite my age and experience. Of course, I have basic skills to do so, but I need to learn what it's like to lead others in faith, not just as a pastor.

What is your ministry?

Currently, I'm helping 37 people find a suitable congregation in the Reformed Church. I'm currently making a structure for this process based on the last three years' experience and feedback.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I'm quite young, so I don't have decades of experience, but I have been leading people since high school. I continue to rise to roles of leadership, mostly in event organising and faith. I've had a few coordinator roles as a volunteer at a youth leader conference, where I was a stage manager and programme coordinator for four years. Additionally, I volunteered at a reformed youth festival where I was in roles such as program work branch coordinator and pre-post work group coordinator, where I have been volunteering since the age of 13. In my last youth ministry position, I was in charge of the volunteers and our programs. Last year, I organised and coordinated an event with almost 2000 people in attendance.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I have been entrusted and called to many roles and ministries from a very young age. I know that accepting God's calling doesn't come with instant wisdom and experience, but I want to learn more about what I've been doing for years, leading others in ministries and workgroups, all for Jesus. My two biggest callings in life are event planning and pastoral work.
