Sámuel Szilágyi is a theology student and serves in leadership roles at his local church in Hungary.

When did you trust Christ?

I was raised in a Christian family. Before university, I sought God's will, and He called me to study theology. He has renewed this calling many times in my life, particularly in 2021, when I was in a devastating spiritual place. God has used Scripture to raise me up, particularly 2 Tim 4:1-4 and Rom 7:24-25.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

I learned a lot from the Bible from my family. In London, my pastor encouraged me to know that I could still feel close to Jesus even when I sin, because it is up to Him, not me. The Gospel message really resonated with me in that moment. Other church members, pastors, and the co-leader of my previous church's youth group have greatly impacted my Christian life.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I have been formed by meeting with other believers all my life, and believe that is what Christians are called to do. I look forward to meeting other Christian leaders from around Europe and to fellowship with His children. I expect all the lectures and workshops to benefit me and empower me to help non-believers meet Christ.

What is your ministry?

Currently, I lead weekly Bible studies in my church and preach monthly. I am studying to be a pastor and will be finishing my studies this July.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I led a youth group at a previous church in Budapest for three years. I have been an administrator leading students at my theological university for a year. And since September, I have been learning leadership in a church by assisting a pastor full-time.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

The only reason is my calling to spread the Good News. I intend to study and experience ministry as much as possible to do it well. Also, all opportunities are from God, and I am keen to see how He will organise this Forum. As a current student from Hungary, I cannot afford the full cost of attending the Forum.
