Roxana Nazarie coordinates a team at Vistier, a financial discipleship ministry in Romania.
I was born in a Christian family and made the decision to follow Jesus at the age of 11. One day after returning home from school, I felt a deep conviction that I needed God’s forgiveness and that I wanted Him to be my personal Saviour and have a personal relationship with Him. From that moment on, I began reading the Bible and praying regularly, and at the age of 16, I was baptised.
Aside from trusting Christ and being baptised, other defining moments include spending a gap year at the Word of Life Bible Institute and experiencing God on a deeper level. My Christian life was deeply shaped by the example of one of my grandmothers. Over the years, many other people have invested in my life, which I see as a clear expression of God’s grace. The years I spent in ministry, along with the project I am currently involved in, have also played a significant role in shaping the person I am today.
My current leadership role represents a different level from my previous work in children’s ministry. It requires deeper training, ongoing personal development, and the intentional building of a support network with whom I can share experiences, address challenges, and develop resilience in my role. Having attended the Cambridge Leadership Network last summer, people encouraged me to also attend the Forum and join this amazing network of leaders.
I coordinate a team of six people within a financial discipleship ministry. This project was officially launched in January 2026 after two years of development. The vision of this ministry is to see Romania transformed through the application of Biblical financial principles. To accomplish this, our mission is to equip and form leaders who disciple others through small study groups focused on biblical teachings about financial stewardship. Those disciples are then encouraged to disciple others in turn.
My past leadership roles were mainly connected to ministry with children and teenagers, which I have been involved in for over 20 years. Over time, I have served in various settings: as a Sunday school teacher in my local church, leading a small team doing children’s ministry in two villages, serving as a summer camp leader, and becoming one of the leaders in the teenagers’ ministry in my local church. God used these years to lay the foundation for ministry and leadership in my life, with others encouraging me to not only be part of a team but to step out in courage and lead. Through various leadership trainings I participated in, God strengthened my leadership by adding knowledge and preparation, getting me ready for the next step in my ministry.
I want to grow in my biblical understanding of making disciples, and I strongly believe there is a real need to focus discipleship ministry on finances. First, because finances are one of the main competitors for our hearts; second, because the Bible speaks a lot about this topic; and finally, because as we become better stewards of what God has entrusted to us, we are better able to support the mission of evangelising the world.
