Richard Deák

Richard Deák is a theology student in Hungary, involved in pastoral ministry at his local church.
In the fall of 2020, I repented of all of my sins. The Lord changed my mind and life. After being fed with Scripture, I chose deepen my study of Jesus, who saved me. I want to serve Him and help others learn about Him too.
My childhood church in Slovakia left a basic cultural Christian impact on me. In 2019 a friend helped me learn key Bible truths. In 2020, I faced deep remorse for my teenage sins, having read the Bible and Reformed doctrines thoroughly. In 2021, I enrolled at the University of János Selye in the Faculty of Reformed Theology. In addition to my education, my wife, who is also a Christian, and has had a great impact on my spiritual life. I have also been helped in my understanding by my current pastor who teaches, preaches, and holds firm to Reformed doctrine and ethics.
I hope to learn answers to important and relevant questions I have. I also want to learn new things that will help me in my future ministry and look forward to learning about new resources.
I am currently studying multiple fields of theology in Budapest. I write sermons and homilies for practice, evaluation, substitution at our church, occasional faculty devotionals, and different holiday services: Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, and Pentecost legate-services. Sometimes I serve through Bible study and youth mission.
Since 2023, when the pastor needed a substitute, I have preached at my local church and at times led small Bible study groups.
Due to my full-time studies at the Faculty of Theology (KRE) I am not employed. I married in August of 2024, and I lack the funds to attend the Forum. I am studying to become a pastor in Hungary and want to prepare as much as I can to do whatever God asks of me.
