Peter Cimala

Peter Cimala is a university lecturer and is the Director of the Komenský Institute of Prague.
In 1994, at age 18, I attended a mission event and accepted Jesus as my Saviour.
At a youth conference, I felt called to serve people instead of studying economics at university. I was inspired to study theology. My years at the seminary in Prague were very important to my Christian walk, as I met people who integrated faith and learning, and some of the teachers became my long-term mentors.
I expect to network with people serving in similar ministries across Europe, gain fresh insights for my work, and enjoy stimulating lectures.
I teach courses on biblical theology at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Prague. I work part-time as the Director of the Komenský Institute of Prague, a ministry primarily focused on academic mentoring. I also serve part-time as the European Representative of the Society of Christian Scholars, supporting Christian academics.
I served as a pastor for seven years in a local church. I was the General Secretary and later the Director of a small NGO, the Komenský Institute of Prague.
The Forum fee, including travel costs, is quite expensive for me and my organisation. Additionally, the Czech Republic is a very secular country. My work is with young seminary students who will become pastors, counsellors, or leaders of Christian organisations. As a mentor, I support future Christian scholars who have an impact in the Czech Republic and across Europe. There is a great need for educated pastors and Christian scholars who integrate faith and learning, both in my country and in post-Christian Europe.
