Pavel Pavlov
Pavel Pavlov is on staff with Compass Europe, a discipleship movement in Bulgaria.
I prayed to accept Jesus as my Saviour when I was 20 years old. I was invited to several events organised by Campus Crusade for Christ. After attending these events, I became friends with a few staff members. I was looking for meaning in my life at that time. The staff noticed my thirst for God and shared the Gospel's good news with me.
The first thing that impacted me after becoming a Christian was my discipleship relationship with my mentor. He spent much time and energy helping me grow and showing me how to live a Christ-centred life.
For the last few years, I have studied what the Bible says about family and business. I was surprised at how practical the Word of God is. This study has helped me follow Jesus in every aspect of my life.
Since attending ELF, my focus has shifted from secular management tools to a discipleship approach. I now evaluate all I read through the lens of the Bible. Loving God and people has become a higher priority than results and processes. My role requires actively networking with leaders of other Christian organisations and seeking ways to help them with our resources. I also love the Bible-based teaching at ELF.
Compass Europe is a financial discipleship movement in Europe. We aim to serve churches and individuals with resources on biblical stewardship. We disciple people on the topic of money. This is a taboo topic in Europe, so a big part of what we do is communicate our ministry's importance. With a small team's help, I lead the marketing efforts, produce new materials and tools, serve the national teams, and organise the annual conference.
As a student, I was a member of the leadership body of a non-Christian NGO called the Association for International Exchange of Students in Economics and Commerce. The organisation develops leadership by engaging students and graduates in international student exchange and internship programs. When I joined the local office, I was the only believer. I had to lead young leaders and be an excellent example of a Christian. I learned to rely on Jesus and to ask for grace from Him. I led several people to the Lord, and many others were challenged.
I have committed my life to serving God. I want God to use me to expand His kingdom on the earth. I already see some of the fruits of my past ministries. I need more knowledge and training to go to the next level so I can adequately meet Bulgaria's needs.
