Oleh Horbuliak is the pastor at a Ukrainian church in the Czech Republic.

When did you trust Christ?

I made the decision to trust Jesus Christ and follow Him about two decades ago at a conference. It was a special moment when I clearly felt God’s call and responded with joy.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Defining moments in my Christian journey include my time of study at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Ukraine. There, God especially shaped me through His Word and fellowship with other believers. In addition, the situation in Ukraine, in the context of war, has greatly impacted my faith. It has strengthened me, deepened my trust in God, and inspired me to serve others more faithfully in difficult circumstances.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I learned about the European Leadership Forum from the pastor of our Czech church. I believe that participating in the European Leadership Forum will, first of all, inspire me in my ministry and help me gain new ideas and approaches. Most importantly, it will give me the opportunity to meet and connect with other participants who, like me, are serving Ukrainians during the war.

What is your ministry?

After the war began, I moved to the Czech Republic, where I have been serving as the pastor of a Ukrainian church for the past three years. This role has been both a privilege and a challenge, as I have had the opportunity to guide people through difficult circumstances, strengthen their faith, and inspire them to serve others.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

In the past, I have held several leadership roles. In Ukraine, I was responsible for organising children’s camps and served as a youth leader. During that time, God taught me responsibility, teamwork, and how to care for the younger generation.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

Currently, my ministry supports Ukrainian refugees, and this training will help me better assist them, inspire them, and strengthen their faith.
