Oduware Abraham
Oduware Abraham is a pastor's wife who serves various functions in her local church.
I came from a Christian home where my mother took us to church as children. I first responded to an altar call when I was in secondary school, but I was not really fervent. In 2004, however, at a conference in the United Kingdom when I came to visit my sister. I attended the Festival of Life organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God. I felt convinced that the Lord wanted my total surrender during the altar call of rededicating my life to Jesus. I went out for prayers, and since then, I am now more aware of the need to develop and grow my relationship with the Lord Jesus.
For me, the defining moment is that moment when I felt welcome to the body of believers and learning of the Lord Jesus daily, and my ability to hear the voice of God and yield to His direction, and He walked with me. I enjoy being in the presence of God alone and in the company of other believers. I have been in the church since I was a child, and the more I draw closer to God, the more I experience his mighty power and the more I yearn to know Him more. He has proven Himself faithful to me beyond word, and I owe all my life to Him
I hope to become a better woman myself, living continually for Jesus, learn from all experienced women in the room, and I hope to take my learning and tailor it to the effective growth of our women's ministry in Newbury, raising women who will be leaders in themselves and become transformational agents for Christ.
As a Pastor's wife, I oversee the welfare of members of the church, working closely with the hospitality team. I serve as the Children and Youth Department Leader, working hand-in-hand with the Youth teacher. I also function as the link between the church and the community.
We currently have about 30 women in my church whom I believe will benefit from the knowledge that I will get by being on this programme, and I hope to introduce the women's leader to the same programme in the future because we are not growing for ourselves but for what the Lord may want to use us for.
