Mihaly Laszlo Deli is an assistant counsellor with Grace Ministries in Hungary.
When did you trust Christ?
I was confirmed in the Hungarian Reformed Church at the age of 14, but it wasn't until 2011 that I gave my life to Jesus. During a difficult time, I asked God to reveal Himself to me. A few days later, a man approached me on the street in front of our house and asked me if I knew Jesus. He gave me a link to a website where I listened to apologetics teaching. I accepted the truth and received Jesus as my Saviour and Lord! After this, my wife and my three sons also accepted Jesus.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
First, God introduced me to a worship leader, and we started a home church with our families and a few other brothers and sisters. I also found many Christian people around me. Then I experienced serious difficulties in every part of my life, which caused lots of suffering! During those difficult times, I was desperately seeking Jesus and praying to the Lord day and night. The Lord was discipling me, and He showed me so many truths about Himself, myself, and the world. Finally, I found the organisation of Grace Ministries Hungary, and I attended two courses: Christ-Centred Thinking and Christ-Centred Counselling. Now I am being discipled and serving as an assistant counsellor. I have also started discipling others, and my first disciples are my three sons!
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I want to attend the Disciple-Making Leaders Year-Round Network and learn from its leaders, being discipled in the process, and gain a deeper understanding of how to disciple others more effectively.
What is your ministry?
I serve as an assistant counsellor. I am part of the operations team at Grace Ministries Hungary and also serve on the daily prayer team. I have also started making disciples.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
I worked for Carnival Cruise Lines as a dining room manager for four years, where I was responsible for 30 to 40 coworkers from around the world. I have also been the general manager of Elite Apartman Ltd since 2002. We have a small team of eight to ten people; I have experience running a business, managing people, helping them, and serving them.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
My vision is to spread the Gospel and help my Christian brothers with mentoring, counselling, and discipling them. There is a huge demand in Hungary for this type of vision and service. Approaching Christianity in this way is a long-term relationship where I can help Christians grow spiritually and equip them to disciple others. I am open to this service, but I do not want to do anything on my own. I leave everything to the Lord and to the Holy Spirit!
