Michal Janoušek
Michal Janoušek is an event manager for his church in Slovakia.
Before I departed to study abroad in Finland, I was challenged by my brother to pray when times are difficult. In that moment, I realised that God exists no matter what I believe, and He always hears me. Later, I decided to trust in Jesus and follow him no matter what; this is a decision that I continue make every day.
The most decisive moment was when my pastor and friend invited me to church. Until then, I had never known community and had never realised the necessity of having a relationship with the Lord and the ability to grow as a Christian. Later, I was invited by my friend to serve with the youth, which has allowed me grow even further. In service, I realised that personal growth is not defined by what you do, but how much your identity is rooted in Christ
I learned about the Forum from my pastor. I hope to gain knowledge that will equip me with skills to serve people better both within and outside of the Church.
My main service is currently as the Event Manager for my local church. My responsibilities include organising events happening in the church throughout the year and helping the pastor with practical tasks. I also lead a small group of men in church where we share what's happening in our lives and study the Word.
I used to co-lead a youth group helping young people mature in Christ. Additionally, I have been a co-leader in EDGE youth ministry. EDGE is an organisation that brings people to Christ in the context of sport.
Through training, I am better equipped to serve, teach, and lead others toward a deeper relationship with Christ. When I grow, others grow. My ministry is driven by love for people. With a better understanding of the love that God has for me, I can love people even more.
