Martin Michálek

Martin Michálek is the Financial Project Manager of In-Life, a university outreach organisation in the Czech Republic.
I became a Christian after seeing the Jesus film during my first year in university. I became involved in student ministry in the university, joining a small group Bible study they offered. This experience helped me learn and understand so much about the Bible because I had not known much about it beforehand.
By my third year in university, I was a leader of one of the Bible studies. This gave me practical experience in leading and encouraging other believers. Furthermore, that experience helped me grow spiritually. I had to study and prepare the lessons before I would teach, giving me the time to really invest in God’s Word. Another important moment for me was participating in World Harvest Missions’ Sonship Conference. This conference really touched my heart. Although it was not anything new, it reintroduced things which my heart had heard but kept forgetting to apply. I was touched by the grace and love of God and how this love is given independently of my works. I also came to understand more about Christ, who has saved me despite my worst sins.
The European Leadership Forum provides good biblical teaching and other resources. It has given me new inspiration and networking with other leaders. For me was very beneficial to participate in Year-Round Mentoring (YRM). I'm still using knowledge and ideas from this YRM. I think it is a great place for inspiration and meet new Christians from different countries.
I'm involved in ministry among university students in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I'm also engaged in personal evangelism and discipleship. For In-Life, I'm responsible for strategic development, fundraising, and communication, along with designing and sending grant requests and reports.
I have served as a Bible study leader and a Christian leader on university campuses.
I see university students as a key group. They will eventually be leaders in many areas and will influence a large number of people. If these leaders are Christians, their influence could be very important in furthering God’s Kingdom. The number of university students in the Czech Republic is growing, and there are not enough servants to cover this big field. Our organisation, last year, reached out to at least 3,000 university students on a personal level. We shared the Gospel with 500 in personal conversations, of which 10 gave their life to Jesus during the last school year.
