Markus Tauber works at a Christian youth camp and leads retreats in Germany.

When did you trust Christ?

In 2014, a fellow student invited me to a Christian event. At first I thought it would be a one-time thing, but he kept inviting me, and I found friends there. I got in touch with Christian apologists like Matthias Clausen and Alexander Fink. I was also introduced to talks and literature from John Lennox. My skeptical worldview began to crumble bit by bit, and in the middle of 2015 I surrendered and openly told God in a prayer that I wanted to know Him. Since then, I have lived by these three goals: get to know Christ better day by day, become more like Christ, and spread the Gospel.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

We had a very personal retreat in Sweden this February. We were a small group of 12 people, but four of them were either non-Christian or doubting their faith. I was leading this retreat. It was very special, with many very personal conversations. I could imagine doing retreats like these more often.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I expect a very challenging but also fulfilling exchange with experts on a variety of topics. Also, I expect to learn a lot and be encouraged to engage more in evangelism. Other than that, I am just open to being surprised by God during that time.

What is your ministry?

I am active at a Christian youth camp each summer and contribute to retreats from time to time.
