What is your ministry?
I am the youth ministry leader at our local church, but this ministry extends to youth from other parts of the country through various events and camps. I teach at a youth leaders' training school where I lead and help youth leaders from all over Slovakia to be more effective in their local ministries. I also act as the pastor at my church when the Senior pastor is not there.
When did you trust Christ?
I grew up in a Christian family. My dad was, and still is, a missionary and a pastor. My parents taught me about Jesus from as far back as I can remember. When I was six years old, I decided to accept God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
I gave my life to Jesus at six, but I rededicated my life to God at age 13. At that time, I started actually to read my Bible and pray. I made this recommitment at a youth camp after I heard a sermon about how God wants to use us and be the Lord of our lives. I knew that God had saved me but that He wasn't my Lord. I realized that if I wanted to be used by Him, I needed to let Him use me and be in control of my life. After I graduated high school, I went to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hungary, planning to get my degree in economics after two years of study. God changed my heart, though, and during my studies there, I felt His calling to full-time ministry. Since then, I had been commissioned into the ministry, ordained, and have become the youth pastor at my local church in the city where I live. Throughout the years, I have had people who have influenced me and helped me make the right decisions, including my parents, leaders in the church, teachers, and mentors.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
It is a privilege and honor to be able to attend the European Leadership Forum. I am encouraged by the preaching and the teaching and meeting other workers in the Lord's vineyard. I can learn so much about the ministry. Learning from Jesus' example in the Gospels, I have gone from the basics to practical advice for my specific situation. At the Forum, I always learn so many valuable skills, methodologies, and tactics.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
My first leadership role involved leading small groups at camps when I was a teenager. I was a counselor and the counselors' leader at various camps in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. I later became the director of summer camps at our church. Starting in my second year in college, I would lead one or more young men in their walks with Christ as a mentor, encouraging and challenging them. Sometimes I would lead small groups as well. Before becoming the Academic Coordinator for the leader's school, I taught there.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I am eager to learn. I am young, and the sooner I learn, the sooner I implement this knowledge in my ministry. Due to my work with youth, I have a sphere of influence with hundreds of people in Slovakia and other central European countries.
