Magdalena Wojciechowska is an independent artist who also works for Steiger Mission School, using her art to proclaim the Gospel in Poland and beyond.
When did you trust Christ?
I was about 9 years old when I experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit at a Christian camp during worship. I knew I needed to repent and submit to Jesus. I confessed that I believed in Jesus, and told Him I wanted to follow Him all my life. Since then I have lived for God.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
Attending Steiger Mission School was definitely a very impactful time for me. I understood that God was calling me to be a missionary and preach the Gospel. Another defining moment was moving to Wroclaw and living in a community house with friends who really challenge me to pursue God daily.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
Foremost, I desire to grow in my maturity in Christ, and in my understanding of God's Word and character. I want to learn God's perspective on art, how to grow in my ministry and how to explain it to others. I expect the Holy Spirit to speak to me through my mentor and others. It will be very inspiring to meet other creative believers full of passion for God. I hope to maintain these relationships, maybe even collaborating in the future. I would also like to learn some practical skills to use in making my art.
What is your ministry?
I am with Steiger International Mission, which uses art to preach the Gospel, and I lead a community house in Wroclaw. We organise events for non-believers and disciple people. I also co-organise worship and prayer events in various churches in Wroclaw where, together with Steiger, I mobilise other believers to preach the Gospel. I regularly preach the Gospel on the streets of Wroclaw (also in other cities in Poland and abroad). I am currently preparing an art exhibition that will incorporate different artistic media to display the beauty of God, ultimately pointing to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. I am part of a team fixing up a building for the purpose of hosting Gospel-oriented artistic initiatives. I create presentations and do copywriting and graphic design for Steiger. In my local church, I serve on the welcome team and help with presenting slides.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
I taught Sunday School in a church in Lublin. I was a worship leader and a youth group leader at a church in Warsaw. I also helped lead some short-term mission trips in Poland as a teenager.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I believe that God called me to ministry, and I want to obey Him. I use the creative gifts God has given me in many different ways, whether it be visuals, music or creative writing. I see so many broken young people who need to hear about Jesus. I am willing to serve them with my time and resources, but since I am part of the body of Christ, I do not want to do it alone. I definitely need encouragement, advice, and financial assistance from other believers.
