Magdalena Szyszkowska

I am engaged in my church. I sing in a church choir. I also lead two different Bible study groups for women alongside my sister. Both these groups meet once a week to study a Bible. I also disciple young women in the church.
When I was about 16 years old, I became a Christian. My sister shared the Gospel with me, and I listened carefully. One day I asked her, “What would happen to me if I died today and rejected Jesus?” And she said with very sad eyes that I would die. It really terrified me. After a few days I became Christian. I was Catholic, but deep down inside I disagreed with nearly all the doctrines of the Catholic church. After a while, I decided to convert to Protestantism. I see now how my faith life has changed. I love Jesus more and I want to tell others about Him.
A defining moment was in 2016 when I had breast cancer. That was the point where I put all my trust in Jesus Christ. It was like a revival. I started trusting Him and getting to know Him more and more through Bible study. Then, in 2019, I become a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In 2020 and 2021, I attended the European Leadership Forum online. It was so encouraging to choose between so many classes, lectures, discussions, and times of sharing with other Christians. This year it is a great opportunity for me to finally see those people in person.
My sister and I lead two Bible groups for women. In addition, I am responsible for a group for new Christian women or women who are not believers but who are searching. Based on materials from our church and other sources, I prepare questions and commentary for the group. I am also responsible for the winter Christmas meeting for women. This meeting aims to share the Gospel and encourage women to grow in their faith. I am responsible for the topic, the verses of the Bible that will be meditated on, and usually, one of the women will share the Gospel. This is what excites me, and I love the interaction with people!
I want to gain skills on how to better share the Gospel. I am a shy person, so this is a challenge for me. I also have very little experience in evangelism. I am good at building relationships with others and based on that I share the Gospel, but I would like to gain more courage and learn techniques to use in evangelism.
