When I was around 15 years old, a school friend invited me to a winter camp. At the time, I didn't know it was a church camp until we were on our way there. Up to that point, I had nothing to do with God or church. My parents and I never attended church, and they never discussed it. My only exposure to church was through lessons at school led by a nun from the Catholic Church, which I never really paid attention to. At the camp, we had introductory Bible lessons, and I was given a New Testament. I got to meet people from the local church and the pastor, who shared the Gospel with me. I understood that I was a sinner in need of salvation, but I was confused about what I needed to do. I eventually understood that salvation is entirely a gift from God; He gives 100%, and there's nothing I can add to it. Christ's sacrifice on the cross and His triumph over death are complete. I wanted to share this revelation with everyone around me.
There are two significant moments in my journey as a Christian that stand out to me. The first occurred about a year after I became a Christian, with the passing of my sister. It was during this heartbreaking time that I truly felt the church community's support for the first time. At the moment of this tragedy, I didn't fully grasp many things, but reflecting on it years later has given me perspective. It opened the door for me to discuss my faith with my parents for the first time, explaining what it means to me and how I view life after death. The second pivotal moment was during my preparation for marriage. This process taught me about what it means to be a man of God, a husband, and a leader in the family. I'm still learning and growing, but this experience shifted my mindset. I realised that I'm no longer just responsible for myself; I have an impact on my spouse and potentially a future family. Following this, I began to seriously consider my role in ministry within the church, pondering what my talents are and how I can share the gospel and His glory not only through my day job but also through my involvement in church.
I aspire to grow as a spiritual leader within the ministry, rather than merely focusing on the technical aspects. In my day job, I work with technology and have a good understanding of how things operate. However, my goal is to transition my role in the ministry from a technical focus to a spiritual one. I aim to lead in Christ, guiding others not through camera settings and technical setups, but through spiritual guidance and leadership. Through this transition, I hope to integrate more technical services from our church under the unified purpose of spiritual ministry.
I currently serve in the media ministry at my church, where I oversee video production, livestreaming, and the recording of church events. Over the years, my role has grown from operating cameras to shaping our overall media presence, including creating social media content.
Over the past few years, I have been responsible for the video ministry at my church. This role has evolved from merely recording Sunday services to also creating video content for social media and managing live streams. In addition to video production, I have contributed to the audio and visual aspects of our services. For about two years, I assumed broader responsibility for overseeing the entire media ministry.
I am keen to understand how leaders effectively utilise today's media and to identify areas where my local church and the broader church community in Poland may be falling short. I believe gaining this insight could significantly influence how we serve both in our local church and across Poland.
