Kelly Tomlinson
Kelly Tomlinson leads youth and children's work, as well as media, at her church in Wales.
Jesus found and saved me on January 19th, 2015. I say found because I wasn't looking. I say saved because I was truly, utterly, and completely dead. Since my conversion, despite all the challenges and changes, I have found the same to be true now as it was then—God is faithful.
Two things have featured massively in my walk with Him: His faithfulness and the power of prayer. I could go on for hours highlighting the faithfulness and prayer that I've seen. I still have lots to learn. I still have many battles and struggles that only by His strength I'm enduring, but even now I can testify about His faithfulness to me, a blind, deaf, sinful beggar who was dead for years before He found and saved me. I still sin. I still mess up. I still fail. Yet He never has and He never will, and that is the greatest comfort I know.
My pastor and my friend have both attended and thoroughly recommended the Forum. I believe that by attending, I will see more of God through the talks, the fellowship, and the enjoyment of Scripture with others. I anticipate there will be lots of challenges and lots of new aspects of God, His Word, and His character on display.
Currently, my main focus of leadership is in youth work and social media. However, in recent months, I've been leading more around community engagement. I lead children and youth work. I manage all social media for both our church and another Christian organisation, Soul Care Cymru. I also lead our interactions with the community and help organise events in the car park of our new building. I'm also the lead steward for the open-air events at an annual conference. At work, I'm the head of operations for a charity based in Wales, overseeing all projects and staff and reporting to the CEO.
By investing in me, I will be able to continue developing interactions in the community. From attending this event, I hope God will continue equipping me to serve in this development. I also anticipate it will generate greater personal growth in my walk with God. I would really love to grow and be refreshed and renewed by the Lord, to be humbled, and able to serve Him all the more.
