My original decision to follow Jesus was over 35 years ago. Although I had always attended church, I was asked by a friend to attend an evangelistic meeting with her. The church I attended was liberal theologically and very traditional; this meeting was completely different from what I had experienced. At the end of the service, the preacher asked if anyone wanted to become a Christian and ask Jesus into their lives to come forward. For a short time, I wrestled with the fact that I was a Christian because I went to church, but eventually felt compelled to go forward. I gained a personal relationship with the Lord. My journey has been rocky at times when I have faced life’s challenges; however, in the most difficult times, the closer I have been to the Lord.
I hope to gain mentorship and the ability to grow spiritually. I want to continue the growth that began at the European Leadership Forum. I hope to develop skills in sharing the Gospel and holding Bible studies. I also want to build leadership skills that will enable my ministry to share the Gospel. I hope to have a network around me to support my growth through prayer and shared experiences and knowledge. I hope to be able to share concerns, struggles, and difficulties with a group and have prayer and support from them. I want to be a part of the growth of other leaders in the group and be able to journey together.
My ministry is in psychotherapy, which entails supporting people with psychological issues and developing a ministry with older people in the church and the wider community. I currently run a well-being group, and within this group, I hope to build a training package for volunteers to develop skills to support better people attending the group. I hope to establish a Christian counselling service in time. I am discussing how we can create a peer group for Christians within counselling that promotes integration and developing Christian counselling further within Wales. I am working with the Wales Leadership Forum leader Phil Swann to do this.
Professionally, I work in psychotherapy. I am currently a minister's wife and have many roles associated with supporting my husband in his position.
