Henrietta Nagy is a youth leader and coordinates the Starpoint Youth Festival in Hungary.
When did you trust Christ?
I came across Christianity when I was 13 years old, when I started attending a youth group and was preparing for confirmation. We were at a camp with the youth group, where the story of the prodigal son touched me. That's when I felt and understood that it is possible to be close to God, and that's when I decided that I, too, wanted to go back to the Father and dedicate all my talents to him and His work.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
Since my teens, a lot has happened in my faith. I have met many people in churches who have had a great influence on me. The strongest experience with God was when I received my call to be a pastor, during a worship evening. Worship and the way I can freely connect with God are very important in my faith life. Silent retreats also add a lot to my faith, when I just pray and be with God in a forest for a few days. The greatest experience from the past period was organising the Starpoint Festival. I asked God a lot about His plans for me, and on several worship nights, Sunday services, and in my personal prayers, I received the message of faithfulness in everything He entrusts to me.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
The evangelical focus is one of the most important in my leadership, and at the European Leadership Forum, I can attend a conference to learn and receive impulses in this regard. The network of evangelical leaders in Hungary is quite small, and even smaller for those active in youth missions, so I hope to receive new impulses through new connections.
What is your ministry?
The Starpoint Festival is a festival for the reformed youth of the Carpathian Basin, with the goal of bringing renewal and conversion to the lives of young people, so that they can continue to serve in their local churches when they return home. The festival focuses on God and on giving young people age-appropriate answers to their questions in the light of the Gospel. To this end, we organised evangelistic services, praise and worship services, and many other faith-awakening programs in addition to entertainment.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I lead one of the largest youth events in Hungary and the Reformed Church, the goal of which is to bring renewal and conversion to the lives of every young Hungarian. This goal can affect our entire country, and even the Carpathian Basin. In this, we seek God's will and guidance. Our desire is to create an organizational culture in which the building of God's kingdom takes first place.
