Graham Mullan is a Presbyterian minister in Northern Ireland serving two rural congregations.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in a Christian home with a father who was a Methodist Minister and is now retired. I came to faith in Christ in my early teens while attending a mission.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

My journey of faith has at times staggered, but the witness of godly friends at school impacted me to an extent that they will never fully understand. In my mid-40s, I sensed God's call to full-time ministry.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

A ministry colleague introduced me to ELF. We are allowed one week of ministry training/development per year as ministers. The ELF Networks offer a range of ministry support opportunities, and meeting with others who are engaged in ministry will help me gain insight into new ways to present the Gospel.

What is your ministry?

I serve as a full-time minister in the Presbyterian church in Ireland. My ministry includes preaching, teaching, pastoral visitation, administration, and leadership with two rural congregations. I am also involved in conciliation, congregational life, and witness across the island of Ireland.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

Previously, I served in church leadership in the Methodist Church in Ireland. After moving to the Presbyterian Church, I served as an assistant minister in Dungannon Presbyterian for three years and now serve as a minister in the Moy and Benburb congregations of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

As the demands of ministry grow and the expectations of people rise, the challenge of ministry becomes greater. Our experience in Western Europe is that church attendance is declining. As we change our ministry model to go to the people, we also need to consider how to revitalise our churches. These are two areas in which I am keen to learn more at ELF and put into practice upon my return.
