Georgina Green

Georgina Green leads the Development and Communications Team at UCCF in England.
I grew up going to church and thought I was a Christian. However, my first year at university I took a Christianity Explored course run by the Christian Union (CU), and at a follow-up event, I realised the happy news of the Gospel required a response, so I prayed with a CU Guest who encouraged me to get connected with a church.
After university, I was mentored by two women who encouraged and challenged me in my walk with Jesus. In 2017, a good friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer at age 33. I saw her church family's support, and it taught me a deeper dependence on the Lord’s promises. Friends, church family, and work colleagues have been key in pointing me to Jesus and dependence on Him. I have also known the joy of seeing my sister come to Jesus and grow in Him.
I hope that following this YRM, I will have greater confidence and clarity as I set communications strategies. We are also beginning work on a capital campaign at the moment, so input into that and how to effectively communicate about it and the ministry it will enable would be very helpful. I also hope that collaboration with the others on the YRM will be a helpful benefit to me and to them as we share ideas and challenges.
I lead the Development and Communications Team at UCCF, whose mission is students reaching students with the Gospel. My team and I generate prayer and financial support. I train staff across UCCF and serve on the Executive Team. I also belong to a church plant, where I am part of the music team and lead the PA team.
At church, I have led student Focus evenings for nine years (including weekly student small group Bible studies), and Christian summer camps for 13 years. During my 14 years on the UCCF Development and Communications Team, I became Assistant Team Leader and now Team Leader.
UCCF is working across Great Britain to give every university student an opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. The potential for the Gospel is great in university. As a team leader, I greatly value others' input and experience to continue growing this work.
