Ester Herasimovich
I was born into a family of ministers, and I was baptised at the age of 13. Since then, I have been serving God.
Two ago, I had an emotional burnout. There were several reasons for this; I overextended myself in service, and we had a difficult political situation and unresolved personal issues. But I went through it with other people's help, and it strengthened my faith in God.
My most important goal is to strengthen myself as a leader because I am only at the beginning of my service. I want to learn to deal with doubts and anxiety. I hope to gain experience in service to people, apprenticeship, and team organisation. I want to grow spiritually and develop my character to be sufficiently prepared for God's ministry.
I serve in the international ministry 'Community Bible Study.' It's a ministry that helps people worldwide learn the Word of God in small groups. This ministry provides materials for groups to study the Bible together and train leaders. Our vision is to transform lives by studying the Word of God. Our mission is to create and teach disciples of Jesus Christ. I conduct my group on this principle: each participant studies the Bible on their week with the help of questions, and then they come to the group where they discuss an excerpt from the Bible and share what they learned at the end. At the end of the group, the leader makes a short closing word.
At 18, I started a home Bible study group based on CBS material. And this summer, I became a Belarusian youth leader in a Community Bible Study. I am creating a youth ministry team for a joint Bible study in Belarus. I lead a Bible study group on my own. I conduct training and seminars on joint Bible study for young people and teenagers. This year, I helped 14 leaders start studying the Bible in their groups and helped organise several new groups. Currently, I mentor three girls who study the Bible in groups.
The vision of our ministry is the transformation of life through the study of God's Word. By investing in me as a leader, you are investing in transforming the lives of the youth of Belarus. Now our country has a difficult political situation, many people are slaves of communist thinking, and they need freedom. Our country needs to build a new foundation on biblical values to change the situation. My dream is to see the youth of Belarus transformed, and all Russian-speaking countries are now in dire need of the Word of God.
