Dora Szabados

Dóra Szabados is a women's leader at her church in Hungary, wanting to see lives changed by God's Word.
When I was almost 16, I went to a Christian camp for girls, and an older woman taught us the Bible. One night, she taught about the parable of the prodigal son. God put His hand on my sins and showed me how wretched I was. I asked for a personal conversation with the Bible teacher and cried for an hour over my sins. Then we prayed together. I told Jesus everything I had said to the older woman. Since then, the Lord has cared for me and changed my heart. I am very thankful to Him!
The older woman who prayed with me to accept Christ significantly influenced me. Another woman from my church who had a difficult life also impacted me because she loved the Lord intimately. Other defining moments were when I got married, when I had children, and when my husband became a pastor.
I learned so much from my ELF Network this year about inductive Bible study, and I would love to benefit more through Year-Round Mentoring. At ELF, I experienced how much I need to practice the inductive Bible study method to be able to lead a good Bible study, and I am eager to learn. Personally, I would love to get to know Jesus more through this method and also hear other YRM fellows' insights about their studies of the Word. It is so encouraging and touching how Jesus talks to our brothers and sisters.
In our church, I lead the Women's Bible study. I am also part of the worship team, serving as both a pianist and singer. When needed, I translate for foreign visitors, and I also do some administrative tasks.
I have previously taught and organised the young children's ministry in our church.
I am involved in the women's Bible study ministry of my church. Therefore, I want to learn more about teaching the Bible to others.
