Dominik Svitel

Dominik Svitel is a leader with CRU in Slovakia as part of the church planting team.
I grew up in an orphanage beginning at age four. From the age of eight to 18, I attended the Catholic Church. A group from the Mission to the World organisation visited our orphanage, spent time with us, and invited us to their church. I had always been interested in God and enjoyed hearing the Gospel clearly and boldly. Becoming a believer was more of a process than a one-day event. It all happened between the ages of 15 and 18.
Every year, I look back and see God at work in me and my growing dependence on Him. One defining moment was the first time I preached. It is still a blessed moment. I have mentored men throughout the years, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to have influenced them. Two teenagers became believers through my sharing of the Gospel with them. And last but not least, I enjoy seeing how God is taking care of my ministry.
I hope to grow in my weak areas and learn from other people's experiences. At the same time, I hope to be a blessing for others in the things that I share.
I work for CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) in the department that starts new churches. I have been with this ministry for over 12 years. I am also an elder at our church, where I serve through preaching and pastoral care. I'm also very devoted to personal discipleship; at this moment, I am meeting with four men individually. Alongside these ministries, I also serve on the board of a Christian school.
Previously, I worked with Athletes in Action, which involved sharing the Gospel through sports. I have served with the Global Church Movement, a ministry focusing on church planting. The goal was to connect with other churches' planting ministries and teach and learn from them how to be part of new churches in new areas or cities.
I want to learn and gain as much new insight as possible, and in turn, share all the good spiritual growth opportunities with those in my country.
