Dima Levenets
Dima Levenets is a preacher and an elder at his church in Poland.
I decided to walk with God when I was 17 years old. At one point, I prayed a lot about my 'readiness'. I was a Christian who truly wanted to be prepared. I knew that I would never be 100% ready, but for three years before my baptism, I sincerely desired to leave behind all deliberate falsehood. Then, I understood a simple truth—there is no point in waiting for self-perfection. So, I decided not to wait any longer! It was too important.
My best friend had the greatest influence. We spend many hours discussing God's work, scripture, and God's nature. A major moment in my life happened when I was six years old. My mother and I went to an Orthodox Church where there was teaching about the living God. I asked my mom, 'If God is living, why do we pray in front of images?' I had several more questions like this, so my mom spoke with the priest and asked him to come talk to me directly. When I asked him my questions, he was surprised and started laughing loudly. His only answer was, 'When this boy grows up, he will understand everything'. My response was to start thinking about starting my own church that truly worshiped God when I grew up.
I heard very good feedback from my brother in Christ, who attended the Forum last year. This opportunity also coincides with many new activities in our church. I see how our congregation is growing, and I want to become a better leader for God’s glory. I believe the Forum will be a great source of inspiration for me, and I hope to be an inspiration to someone else.
I am a preacher and an elder in our congregation in Olsztyn. I also meet personally with church members to discuss spiritual matters and help our home-group coordinator with Bible studies. Furthermore, as a husband, I'm responsible for my family in many matters.
I have served in various youth roles, such as VBS teacher, youth leader, and Sunday school teacher.
Currently, my family is going through a difficult time. For me, the opportunity to apply for a scholarship is a sign from God that He cares about this opportunity. Through your generosity, I will be able to grow and, in turn, give to others.
