Damian Ion is a pastor from Romania who is actively involved in a host of ministries both locally and abroad.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in a family of believers. Eventually, I received the Lord Jesus in my heart and was baptised.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Following my baptism, I attended a theological high school and went straight into seminary after leaving high school, finishing in 2000. Since then, I have been a pastor and a missionary.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

Overall, I expect to receive encouragement and spiritual edification. I also believe that the European Leadership Forum will be a great place to network with fellow believers and strike up new collaborations.

What is your ministry?

With the Lord's help, I am involved in a handful of ministries. Locally, I work closely with various churches and pastor the Baptist Church of Radna. I provide social work for orphans, work as an educator at the same theological high school I attended, and I am a radio host and programme coordinator. Outside my local ministry, I serve as a member of the Committee of the Baptist Association of Arad and recently became the Vice-President of the Baptist Association of Arad. Beyond the borders of Romania, I also am involved in missionary work in Ukraine.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

After finishing seminary, I pastored the Baptist Church in Medgidia and was a church planter. At the same time, I was a member of the Committee of the Baptist Association of Constanta where I was responsible for inter-ethnic missions and served as the secretary of the association.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I pray that through my participation in the Forum I will be able to develop my current ministry and discover new opportunities that will lead to even more ministries.
