Claudia Achim

Claudia Achim is the Volunteer Coordinator for the Romanian National Forum.
I was 16 years old when I decided to follow Jesus. I was born into a Christian family and was involved in church, but I started asking myself questions about my relationship with God during my studies in a Christian high school. I doubted and tested God to see if He was real and would respond to my prayers. After that, I discovered God is the only way and decided to trust and follow Him.
My parents, first of all, impacted my faith. Whenever we had a problem, we gathered as a family to pray. Then, I had Christian teachers in high school who set boundaries in many areas and taught us to memorise passages from the Scriptures, which later became an encouragement to help build a character that honours God. I was far from my hometown during university, but I saw God’s protection, help, and guidance; He answered my prayers. Later, I had a challenging job, which God used to grow my faith. Finally, God also blessed me with friends who bring God first in every circumstance, friends whom I look to and see Christ, friends with whom I can pray, and friends through whom I am getting closer to God.
Following my past involvement in ELF, I expect to have a network and a community with which to grow in being like Christ, as He is our role model —a community where I can be encouraged, helped, and supported. I also expect to gain knowledge from books, studies, and all the participants enrolled in this Year-Round Mentoring program. Moreover, experience linked to theory will make the meetings more practical, and this will lead to a positive change in our workplaces and, ultimately, in society.
I am a volunteer coordinator for the Romanian Forum. Additionally, I am responsible for helping newcomers integrate smoothly into my church. I am also part of the Young Professionals ministry, a new ministry in our church, and I sing in the choir. This is in addition to my marketplace job, where I work in the finance department of a multinational manufacturing company.
As a teenager, I was a team leader in an organisation that offered summer programs.
God provides for His people through others who are available to Him. I know this is one reason someone will invest in me; I want to live in such a way that I influence the people around me for God. I am sure that this is what I will see: leaders who influence and work for God at this Forum. I want to get inspired. The ministry is not mine; it is God’s. I am only a servant, but I want to give God my best.
