I decided to follow Jesus in 2017 after having a phone call with a friend who told me about how Jesus paid for all of my sins. I realised that my sins deserved to be punished by a holy God and that the only way I could be saved was by trusting in Christ, who died for my sins and bore the wrath I deserved.
Some men in my life helped me develop a passion for evangelism. They shared the Gospel with me regularly, and when I came to faith, they continued to encourage me and modeled for me what it means to be a Christian who shares the Gospel with the lost. Another defining moment has been being discipled since 2017. My discipler has modeled for me what it means to live for Christ, and he has introduced me to good books and helped me learn to have a thinking faith. A final moment was my time doing post-graduate research at the University of Aberdeen. During that time, I studied the early church fathers, and primarily focused on Origen of Alexandria. This time was incredibly formative for me because it helped me learn to love the early church and to better defend the Protestant tradition.
I am interested in the current rise in young men's interest in Roman Catholicism. I am also always engaging Roman Catholics on campus through evangelism. I expect this will help me be better equipped to evangelise and disciple those who come to faith from Roman Catholic contexts.
I work for Emet Ministries, a discipleship ministry. I am a lecturer and I have a podcast. I also develop curriculum for small groups with Emet.
