Bohada Kushka
Bohdana Kushka is a Ukrainian missionary who is actively involved in evangelism in Poland.
I was born into a religious, Orthodox family, but without a true personal faith in Jesus. At the age of 16, I began to have many existential questions, which led me to read the Bible and pray. God revealed Himself to me and guided me to the church, where young people who believed helped me grow in faith. At that time, I decided to trust God and dedicate my life to him.
Key moments in my Christian walk include preparing for baptism with my mentor, serving in youth ministry and the worship team, and, in 2022, moving to Poland during the war, which deepened my understanding of God's promises. Joining the Steiger mission in Wrocław and participating in evangelism revealed my calling more clearly. Living in a community house with six other believing girls and organising events for non-believers was life-changing. Attending the Steiger mission school further confirmed God's plan for my life. Now, having committed to full-time missionary work, I continue to grow in my calling.
I expect that attending the conference will benefit my ministry by providing many useful insights and practical knowledge for my calling. I also look forward to meeting inspiring people with whom I can share experiences and learn from their ministry.
In my role as city leader for the Steiger team in Wrocław, I organise and lead weekly team meetings and meet with team members to check on their spiritual growth and development in their calling. I also coordinate regular street evangelism and evangelistic events, collaborate with churches and organise joint evangelistic activities, and lead a Bible study for non-religious people in the Ukrainian language.
In the past, I have often organised street evangelism and coordinated roles within teams. I served as media leader for the Movement Conference, and this year, I organised the whole conference.
Individuals may want to invest in my training and ministry because I am a young leader who learns quickly, has strengths and influence, and am committed to growing in my service. I am also willing to take bold and radical steps to advance God’s work. I am a missionary who moved from Ukraine to Poland, and I am still developing my fundraising skills to better support my mission work. Receiving this scholarship would not only help me grow in this area but also equip me to serve more effectively, expand my impact, and encourage others to engage in evangelism. It would be a great opportunity to gain practical knowledge, connect with experienced leaders, and apply what I learn to support my mission work.
