Ben Málek is a high school and college ministry leader and is also training to be a pastor at his church in the Czech Republic.
When did you trust Christ?
I came to trust Christ when I was 12 years old, when God stopped me through a dream and gave me the grace to start following Him.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
At the age of 14, church leaders began to guide me in a discipleship group. A year later, another crucial moment came when I decided to be baptised. I think further formation came when the leaders guided me into ministry—to make disciples for the next generation. During this time, other people of my generation were led to deeper Bible study and deeper thinking about God. I felt that God was not calling me to go to a college far away in a bigger city, but to stay right where I was, for the sake of the younger generation that needed someone to lead them.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I hope to learn more about helping people grow into maturity in Christ. I think that ELF will equip me better for this role so that I can be more effective in my ministry.
What is your ministry?
I am growing and serving as a preacher. Currently, I am assisting our lead pastor and learning from him through mentorship and courses while occasionally preaching myself. I also serve as one of the main leaders for the high school and college ministry. This allows me to help grow young disciples and share the Gospel with unbelievers. Additionally, I am also the main leader of the worship band at my church and host prayer meetings with church members.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
Leading outreach ministry for unbelievers at a Christian camp. Also, I have been a small group leader where I primarily focused on high school students
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
My ministry disciples the younger generation, leading them to be followers of Christ. In the future, I would like to explore the idea of church planting, where the people who have supported me could assist me in planting a new church (or churches).
