Attila Nagy-Szakmáry
Attila Nagy-Szakmáry lives in Fót, Hungary, with his wife, and together they serve in their congregation’s marriage ministry. Alongside his work in telecommunications, Attila has developed a parallel career as a playwright. Since 2022, five of his one-act plays have been selected as finalists in playwriting competitions, with staged readings presented at approximately 15 venues worldwide. Two of these plays have since been developed into full-length productions. In 2023, he received support through the Déryné Program. He has also co-written and co-produced a short film exploring loneliness in old age. He currently collaborates with two fringe theatre companies and Fiatal Drámaírók Háza (House of Young Playwrights). His latest project, Three Rooms, is a joint work created with two fellow playwrights and inspired by the film Four Rooms.
