For the last two years, I have been part of Atelier Plus, a group of Christian artists looking to disciple other artists and do projects that show the glory of God, art projects. Since I have been a freelance visual artist for a year, I have tried to combine these two great passions I have (my passion for Christ and art) to influence both the secular and Christian worlds.
At the age of 15, I went to the baptism of one of my brothers, and that was the first time I asked myself why he could be happy coming from the same family and I couldn't. So, from that moment, I decided to follow Jesus.
The moments that propelled me into my faith were primarily the difficulties I faced in my family. From 14, I had to learn to be as independent as possible in all aspects of life. That's why I believe God sent me the mentors I needed during every difficult period. I met my first mentors and people who exemplified strong faith in the church where I made my baptismal covenant. Then, at 18, I moved to another city where I started from scratch on the spiritual side and beyond, yet the Lord was faithful and gave me several spiritually mature people who could guide me in my walk with Christ.
I believe that just by having the opportunity to be around other leaders who love Christ, I can embark on what He has called me to do personally. Still, I am sure many people will be eager to listen and encourage me to follow in Christ's footsteps with my ministry. I need the experiences and perspectives of others to expand my vision.
Between the ages of 15 and 18, I worked as an assistant leader for youth camps in the church. During my university years, I worked with several churches on the evangelism side.
The only thing that has kept me up to this point has been God's grace and love that He has shown for me since I was born. So, if He has put in me the desire and vision for my artistic plan, He will give me the strength to see it through and not give up on what He has called me to. So, all I can say is that whatever I lack in achieving my goal doesn't matter, but what matters is the faith that He strengthens in me, and the other things can be added later along the way through the people who will see the passion for Him in me.
