An important and data-driven concern around the globe is the substantial increase in mental health struggles (e.g. depression, anxiety, addiction, suicide, post-traumatic stress, etc.). The Gospel gives a foundation to make sense of troubling times, along with a charge to care for those who are hurting, powerless, and weakened by distorted mental processes. Beneath the cross, Gospel people embrace a theology of hope and healing, which ministry leaders can creatively apply to those whom they serve. This seminar contends that not only do ministry and mental health care intersect, but they perform best when they work together. Using an informed kingdom imagination, this workshop will consider what Gospel leaders have to offer to those who openly or silently struggle with maintaining mental health.
