How should Evangelicals respond to ever-declining rates of both marriage and fertility in Europe? How do we encourage Christian young people to marry, while also honouring and valuing single Christians? In what ways is responding to the decline in marriage a missional opportunity for the church? This session leans on both a theological framing of marriage and family and on recent sociological research underlining the centrality of marriage for society. In practical terms, it seeks to offer guidance to Christian leaders on how they can facilitate marriage amongst Christian young people while also honouring and supporting single Christians in the church. The speaker was single for a number of years before marrying and starting a family and brings an appreciation for both callings to this presentation.
